ABSTRACT
A carga imediata dos protocolos inferiores tem demonstrado ser um procedimento eficaz, confiável e previsível, porém, há poucos dados disponíveis em longo prazo na maxila desdentada. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a sobrevida de 58 implantes após o carregamento imediato em maxilas. Foi realizado um estudo retrospectivo dos pacientes que foram tratados com protocolo de carga imediata superior, entre julho de 2007 e março de 2009. A prótese definitiva foi entregue ao paciente em até 72 horas. A amostra constava de oito pacientes com idade média de 59 anos, onde foi utilizada média de 7,25 implantes por paciente, totalizando 58 implantes. Destes, apenas um foi perdido, o que levou a uma taxa de sobrevida de 98,5% em 22,88 meses de acompanhamento. Há pouca documentação para carga imediata na maxila, no entanto, neste estudo, resultados favoráveis foram obtidos. É consenso entre os autores que boa estabilidade primária e esplintagem dos implantes é crucial para o sucesso do tratamento. Dentro das limitações deste estudo, pode-se concluir que pacientes com maxila edêntula podem ser tratados eficazmente com uma prótese fixa apoiada sobre seis a dez implantes em até 72 horas. A sobrevida do carregamento imediato foi de 98,5% e a perda de um implante não impediu a reabilitação do paciente. Contudo, documentações em longo prazo ainda são necessárias para validar a sobrevida desses implantes em maxila.
Immediate loading protocols for the lower jaw have shown to be an effective, reliable and predictable procedure, but few long-term data are available about this type of treatment in edentulous maxilla. The objective of this study is to evaluate the survival rate of 58 implants after immediate loading in the maxillary arch. A retrospective study was carried out in patients treated with immediate loading protocol between July 2007 and March 2009. The final prosthesis was delivered to the patient within 72 hours. The sample consisted of eight patients, with a mean age of 59 years. An average of 7.25 implants per patient was used. Of these, only one was lost, which led to a survival rate of 98.5% at 22.88 months of follow-up. There is little documentation for immediate loading in the maxilla, however, in this study, favorable results were obtained. There is a consensus among the authors that good primary stability of implants and splinting is crucial to the success of treatment. Within the limitations of this study, we can conclude that patients with edentulous maxilla can be treated effectively with a fixed prosthesis supported by six to ten implants within 72 hours. The survival of immediate loading was 98.5% and the loss of one implant did not prevent patient rehabilitation. However, long-term documentation is still required to validate implant survival in the maxillary arch
